Hi everyone !!

How are you doing today ? I am sorry I couldn't write anything yesterday, we were very busy at Cocoteez and received many new designs, so be patient! It is going to take some time but you will see them online soon !

Now, It's my turn to be on holidays, I'm gonna leave you few days to tan a little !

But before going to the beach, I would like to present you a video regarding one of the most important furniture designer : EAMES.

Charles (1907-1978) and Ray (1912–1988) Eames were American designers, married in 1941, who worked together during 40 years. This famous couple made major contributions in many fields of design including industrial design, furniture design, art, graphic design, film and architecture.

What do you think about this kind of chairs ? Would like it in your living room or it's too much ? 

The Eamses pioneered innovative technologies, such as the fiberglass and plastic resin chairs. Their lives and work represented the nation's defining movements: the West Coast's coming-of-age, the economy's shift from making goods to producing information, and the global expansion of American culture. The Eameses embraced the era's visionary concept of modern design as an agent of social change.

How are you doing today ? Yesterday, I played for the FIRST time with the console WII, amazing !!! Usually I hate video games but it's different and I liked it, so much fun !!! Do you have it at home ?

 

Since november 2006, the new console of Nintendo, the WII, is available and it's a success ! How are you doing today ? I hope you had a great day yesterday. Me nothing specific, except a good movie. I went to the cinema to see WALL E, so cute ! After that I was smilling. Ahhh LOVE, nothing better ! But in the evening when I was fighting with my boyfriend I was so furious I would have liked having the "Love Dectector" to know if he really loves me ! Thanks to Koreans for that. Do you know what is it ?

In Seoul, a mobile phone operator proposes to the South Koreans discovering secretly how much their boyfriend (or girlfriend) loves them. How ?  By analyzing their voices. There's always a desire to know how someone really feels about us. But unless you're telepathic, you can't always know for sure. This operator, KTF, created this program called the "Love Detector", to reveal the passion ! Isn't it great ? It's using a technology who analyze the voice and then interpret the fluctuations of it to know if the person speaks with honesty and affection : accelerations or silence, inaudible shivers in the ear...

That's true people always want to know what we think about us. But, can we trust the "Love Detector" ?

When you speak, a "thermometer of love" appears on your cell phone's screen. Then, the user receive by SMS the analysis which reveals the degree of affection, surprise, concentration and honesty of the interlocutor. That could be funny but so dangerous too !!! If you don't like the "analysis" you're gonna stop with your boyfriend !!!!

The "score of love" varies from  -10 to +50. When you speak, successive petals of marguerite appear if everything is well, but dissapppear if it's wrong ! 

The cost for this service is 1,49 dollars monthly or 0,30 dollar for one call. For sure some of you are very curious and sceptical concerning it ? You could visit the website : www.love-detector.com.

The cell phone became so important in our life. Soon, you're gonna have ALL inside : your keys, your money, your ticket to flight, your shopping, your feelings...The companies always want to invent new weird services. They know it's gonna work ! All the ideas are good, even the silliest !

Sorry if it takes time to put them online. And, thanks to YOU, the members, for your involvement too and your comments. You are more and more numerous to vote ! And your comments help us to know what you like and what you want on Cocoteez. So, don't hesitate to make comments, that helps us to know you better.

Hi everyone !!

How are you doing today ?  I hope you enjoyed my funny exhibition yesterday on Cocoteez. I would like to talk again about laughter and humour. It's holidays and, even if you're working, it's time to make a break and have fun few minutes !!!! I found an amazing new regarding a museum : the Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA) in USA, Massachusetts. It's a community-based, private institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms. Art too bad too be ignored !!! Is that a joke ??? No !!!

The MOBA was founded in the fall of 1993 and presented its first show in March 1994. A success ! Since then, MOBA's collection and ambitions have grown exponentially. The institution works hard to build the finest bad art establishment in the world. The founders take their mission very seriously.

No more talent. If you are one of the worst artists you're gonna be presented in this museum !! Isn't be great ? But, the funniest is that it's as well hard to be the worst artist as the best. The competition is hard !

The permanent collection has over 250 pieces. About 25 works are exhibited at a time in the gallery. But, whart about the artists ? What do you think about the MOBA ? Maybe they are furious, maybe they don't care or they are happy because we talk about their works. They become officially bad artists but they are exposed and shown to many people !!! And, maybe, some visiters will like some of the paintings ?

Hi everyone !!!

What's up today ? I went to a party yesterday and I heard people talking about an original exhibition called "Laughing in a Foreign Language" at The Hayward Gallery in London last year. And I was wondering how it's possible to illustrate the laughter ! That's not easy but that's funny for sure ! Here is some of the pictures the artists shown :

Thirty international artists explored the role of laughter and humour in contemporary art. We always meet people from different contries and it's really hard to understand what they say, think, feel... because everyone has different cultural, political, historical backgrounds and memories. But laughter is universal. Can we laught about the same joke ? These artists tried to make sensitive people in the cultural differences by way of humour. Laughter can act as a catalyst for understanding the unfamiliar. 

Laughter is universal but humour is socially specific. This exhibition presented a perspective on different cultures by bringing together 22 nations around the world. 80 works including videos, photographs and interactive installation to investigate the whole spectrum of humour from jokes, gags, slapstick to irony, wit and satire, as well as questioning what it means to share a sense of humour and what it is that makes an individual laugh.

But, the funniest in my story is that a reviewer for the Guardian said it's not all that funny ! The journalist was disappointed and finally depressed : "While the Hayward seems to want us to think of this as a jolly and accessible show by a roster of wacky international artists, the curatorial intention appears to have been altogether darker. No one was laughing on the two visits I made", he said.

What a pity if an exhibition about laughter and humour isn't funny !!!

How are you all doing today ? Some of you are working, I hope the beginning of the week is not to hard at work ! Today, a very serious subject. A new kind of virus exists now on Internet : the "Malvertising", a new expression which means "Malicious Banner Advertissements". What is it ? The Net's pirates created a new guile against the Internet users : because of false advertising banners they go on forged web pages.

This kind of web attack is new. It appeared first in 2007 and concerned mainly the webites located in United States. But the malvertising is more and more present everywhere.

Facts : The Internet user is steered towards a fraudulent site when he clicks on an advertising. But sometimes, he did nothing because it's the advertising itself who acts as soon as it appears. This is possible because of the banners which have a feasible code (animations of type Adobe Flash for example).

Technically : some lines of code are integrated into an advertising banner which appears on a consumer website, to redirect the Internet users who clicked on it to a new website. Actually, Really, several virus, type "trojans", are in charge of stealing personal information or looking for other trojans.

The problem is that the website, which shows the malicious banner, doesn't even know this one is infected ! The website becomes and the involuntary intermediary between the Internet user and the pirates. The advertising banners are very intereting for brands and online adverising known an incredible development these last ten years. The Internet user is the new consumer very attractive for brands.

Because of the technic, the malvertising concerns essentialy the websites Web type 2.0 such as social networks, download websites to share music or videos and of course one of those with a strong audience because the purpose is to reach the most possible users. And the websites with an insufficient level of security too.

So, some advises to protect you against the malvertisng :

• If you have a doubt on the legitimacy of an advertising, don't click.
   
• Be sure you always use the last version of Web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari).

Be careful pirates are everywhere !

We are in August, it's summer break, holidays and fun for some of you. But, we already talk about the "comeback" everywhere. On television, you can see advertisings for school. In shops, we already present the new collection of clothes... The "comeback" is coming soon. So, maybe you have some plans ? Some new projects for the new year ? Do you want to change your job ? Your boyfriend or girlfriend ? You home ?

Changing you home and decide the dwelling you want !!! You could participate to the competition "Design your dwelling", organized with Dwell and Google SketchUp. It takes place in July 3 to August 31, 2008. The competition challenges architects and design enthusiasts to create a virtual model of their ideal home on a predetermined site location. You must take into account climate, public access, and size constraints, among other issues. Designs will be judged on basic principles such as sustainability, cost-efficiency, and interior and exterior design.

Most people define their home as a place where they feel comfortable and secure. What does it really mean to you ? How this home is suppose to be ? Imagine this dwelling and go to this link to participate :

How are you doing today ? What did you plan for the week end ?

Fan of sports, for sure you gonna watch the first informations regarding the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. Today it's the first day of the Olympic Torch Relay’s tour through Tianjin. It was a success. It began at 8:10am today till 10:20am ended at the International Conference and Expo Center Binhai.

The Games of the XXIX Olympiad will take place August 8-24, 2008, in Beijing, in China. Approximately 10,500 athletes are expected to participate in the Games, with around 20,000 journalists from the whole world. There is 28 summer sports on the Olympic program.

Beijing, situated in the North of China, is the capital of China and its most modern city. This dynamic city, with a population of more than 10 million persons, is very close to its past. The last two dynasties of China (1368-1911) and 26 emperors got for Beijing the dynastic heritage the richest in the world. On July 13th, 2001, Beijing was chosen for the Olympic summer Games of 2008, with the slogan : " New Beijing, brilliant Olympic", what offers to Beijing to become a really international city.

Every emblem of the Olympics tells a story. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" is filled with Beijing's hospitality and hopes, and carries the city's commitment to the world. "Dancing Beijing" is a kind invitation. The open arms in the emblem say that China is opening its arms to welcome the rest of the world to join the Olympics, a celebration of "peace, friendship and progress of mankind."
